Edge CPD

The EDGE Partnership is committed to CPD, both within the individual schools and as a partnership. There is, as you might expect, much informal contact between the schools and their staff but there is also a partnership commitment to CPD which is led by our Partnership Co-ordinator, Clare Saunders. The Edge Partnership continues to evolve  from a network of schools in 2004, to a partnership, to a Registered Charity in 2009 and in 2010 it became the SSAT's Leadership and Innovation Hub for the West Midlands Region.

Professional Development

• Regular international visits, including to China and Chicago, for teaching staff which have led to international links and projects e.g. our Arts Project Website
• Middle Leader Development working in partnership with another Birmingham Partnership
• EDGE Training Day for professional development of all staff, academic and support, delivered by outside speakers and colleagues in Edge schools
• Commitment to diffuse good practice from within the Edge Partnership to all schools in the partnership and schools and Local Authorities outside of the partnership
• Peer-review visits internal to the partnership
• Learning for Life programme, developed by Colmers School and now being offered to schools nationally
• Specifically developed CPD courses by our Head Teachers and their senior teams eg support for schools in challenging circumstances, SEN practices and innovations, International dimensions to education
