Welcome to The EDGE Partnership of Schools in Birmingham. We are an energetic and committed partnership of ten secondary schools which has evolved strongly since 2004 and now includes a charitable and commercial (social enterprise) wing. The EDGE Schools represent a cross section of schools in the Birmingham area, with highly experienced and committed staff who are able to share their expertise, practical skills and knowledge through the Partnership.
The EDGE Partnership is very enthusiastic to build relationships with schools, colleges and other professionals across the country through offering quality CPD through coaching and mentoring – relationship based, personalised and delivered within the schools of the partnership - to form the basis of a sustainable and supportive relationship. Our ‘themes’ are called themes and only delivered to individuals or small groups of up to five individuals.
We very much hope that you will visit the Edge Partnership soon – you will be warmly welcomed by fellow professionals.
Sara Brehony, Chair of the Edge Partnership of Schools in Birmingham.
"The uniqueness of the Edge Partnership comes from the diversity of good schools.…different routes, different histories, different challenges, but all driven by a desire to work together to improve the lot of all our students. If we can actually help other schools to take a little bit of what we’re good at, if that’s what they need, then we will do it."
David Wheeldon, Head, King Edward VI Five Ways School
"I think the good thing about the hands on training the Edge offers is that you will know where the pitfalls are because you are talking to people who have tried things out…so, you really know what you are looking at has been thought through, tried out, evaluated, and improved."
Jane Gotschell, Head Teacher, Lordswood Girls School
"A lot of themes can be full of the theory, but the actual practical aspect s of how you do it, how it works in a particular school I think are hugely beneficial and I think whenever you visit a school and see it in action you learn and come away with good ideas."
Sara Brehony, Chair of the Edge Partnership
